Mavericks On Mac Uses Light Sensors To “Track” You!

Apple has been renowned to use clever piece of technology each time it releases a new software or hardware, and this time it has done the same. Apple’s recent release of Mavericks uses light sensors track your movements, and it does this so it ca reset the idle time. Really clever piece of technology! Details below.

When Apple unveiled the new operating system for Macs, many people loved the new features of it.

Although it wasn’t a major change in terms of design but there were huge improvements under the hood. Some of these improvements made a huge positive impact on the battery life. Almost every Mac which has Mavericks installed on it has seen an improvement in battery life. But today we have a new feature to discuss.

Apple at their media event mentioned that Mavericks was bringing in over 200 new features to Apple’s operating system for Macs. And, today we are finding out that one of these features uses the light sensors in your keyboard to check when to put your Mac to sleep. Clever isn’t it?

The way we found out about this feature of the Mavericks was totally unexpected.

Today a coder discovered about this feature, but he added that Apple was able to reset the idle time using the iSight camera on the Mac – which as you can imagine rang some alarm bells and people went on Twitter to show their concern.

If Apple had used the iSight camera to track you, it would have rung some alarm bells and Apple would have been in the hot seat, after all we are getting so many reports about how NSA is tracking everyone.

Well Apple has definitely upped the ante with Mavericks.
