around the world. Right now these are legal and anyone can do that. But
it seems that these won’t remain legal anymore. A leaked document shows

The document shows that the U.S. government in Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) treaty is secretly dealing with other nations and 600 special interest lobbyist in banning jailbreaking and unlocking of the iPhone.

The TPP treaty talks are under way in which the White House wants to make changes to the constitutional copyright laws. During these talks, the White House plans to “slip” in some changes to jailbreaking and unlocking – they want to ban them.
The worst part isn’t just banning jailbreaking and unlocking, it is that the Obama administration is publicly supporting the decision on keeping these features legal, while secretly planning to ban them!
Well, it shouldn’t really surprise anyone.
January this year, the librarian of Congress passed a law that made unlocking a felony and punishable by five years in prison and $500,000 in charges. A huge public outcry rescinded the decision.
It seems that “forces” are trying to get a ban on unlocking again, but this time they are going to ban jailbreaking too!
The TPP treaty is still being negotiated and the full terms in this treaty have not been revealed yet. Even some members of the congress are being kept in the dark while “special people” have full access to it.
