Apple’s iWatch
is one of those products which we have been expecting from quite a long
time. The concepts and rumors started pouring in as early as when the iPod nano was launched. We have always been dreaming of what an iWatch would look like. Well today we have got news that might interest many of you. Apple’s iWatch will launch in October 2014 with wireless charging!
According to the Chinese blog C Technology, which has a bit of mixed history; Apple’s iWatch will launch in October 2014 alongside the next-generation iPhone – the iPhone 6.
This is the first time we have heard about a wireless charging technology being implemented by Apple for the iWatch, so we have to take this news with a bit of salt. Although wireless charging technology has been put into an iPhone using the COTA technology, which was unveiled earlier this year.
According to the source, Apple’s iWatch will feature a 100 mAH battery, which to be honest is very low. For a comparison, Samsung Galaxy Gear features a 350 mAH battery and gives up to 25 hours of battery life. But Apple has been generally known of optimizing battery life, so we might expect something good here.
Also on the list is that; Apple’s iWatch will feature wireless charging, and will be able to charge your iWatch from a distance of up to one meter. The distance of charging is not confirmed yet so don’t take this number as fixed.
Apple has built two prototypes for the iWatch and is testing various methods of wireless charging using the Qi technology, which has already been implemented in some smartphones.
It would be very interesting to see what kind of iWatch Apple is planning to launch. But I would suggest the readers to take this news as just a rumor until we have some credible source.
Well what are your thoughts on Apple’s iWatch?
